This is another picturesque village of Mallorca. Also situated in the Tramuntana Mountain Range, it is surrounded by lush greenery, olive and almond trees, and several natural springs. It is only 17 km away from Palma, an easy day trip. As the village is on the mountain slope, there are steep streets and natural ledges through the village which lend it a beautiful aspect. In common with Deia, it has a lot of walking and hiking trails.
Among the landmarks of the village, there is the Royal Chartreuse of Jesus of Nazareth, built from the first years of the XIV century, when the mystic and philosopher Ramon Llull was living in this area of Majorca. There are also a lot of churches and towers which date back to several centuries. The parish church San Bartolome, the municipal museum having works from artists such as Picasso and Miro, and the house where Santa Catalina Thomas- was born- are some of the places which must be visited while here.
